Tech for Students

At Gaines Elementary, we believe technology is a powerful tool for learning. Every student receives a device and access to online resources that support creativity, organization, and collaboration — both in school and at home. 

Student Devices 

• All students are assigned a Lenovo Chromebook. 

• Chromebooks are easy to use, reliable, and cost-effective, giving every child 24/7 access to classroom resources. 

Accessing Learning Tools 

• Each student receives a unique email/username and password to log in. 
• Once signed in, students open ClassLink, a personalized dashboard that shows the learning apps for their grade level. 
• Example: A 1st grader will see different tools than a 5th grader. 

Students also have free access to: 

• Microsoft tools: Word, PowerPoint, Excel 
• Google apps: Docs, Sheets, Slides
